Terrell William "Terry" Proctor, J.D. has been a prolific writer for many years. Terry has won writing awards in 2000 through 2006 on either Poetry or Adult Advanced Articles or both, in competition before the South Central Federation of Mineral Societies and/or the American Federation Of Mineralogical Societies. He has had articles published in national publications and is a regular contributor to the Houston Gem & Mineral Society's publication, 'The BackBenders Gazette'.

For a number of years, Terry has been writing articles for the BACKBENDERS' GAZETTE, the official publication of the Houston Gem & Mineral Society. Terry has been one of the top award winners for the past three years by the South Central Federation of Mineral Societies and the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. He was twice the First Vice-President of Houston Gem & Mineral Society, Chairman of the Paleontology Section, and Show Chairman.

Terry has been Curator, Board Chairman and General Counsel for the Proctor Museum of Natural Science for 15 years. Early this year, 2003, he created the website for the museum. On that website, you can find some of Terry's award winning articles as well as those by other writers. Other articles are being added from time to time on that web site.
